BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA Controlled and guaranteed designation of origin The wine: Our painstaking work in the Brunello vineyards is enhanced by a further selection of grapes from the vineyards in the very best positions, to obtain our Riserva: the best Brunello we can make! Features of the land: Sandy, marly clay soil with fossils. Planting density: 3,500 plants per hectare in the old vineyards, 5000 in the new ones. Training system: cordon-trained and spur-pruned. Vine varieties: 100% Brunello di Montalcino (Sangiovese population). Vinification techniques: Light pressing; fermentation in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 28-30°C, with racking and délestage; maceration after fermentation for 25 days. Ageing techniques: 24 months in oak, 6 months in stainless steel, at least 18 months in bottles. Ageing prospects: Even better than the standard-label Brunello, and therefore can easily surpass 20 years. Accompaniments with food: This Riserva di Brunello is so remarkable that it can be uncorked on any occasion, whenever you feel like a treat - because it will always be a special occasion.
